The Dawn. The Twilight. The Shadows.

It was once said that the moral test of
government is how that government treats
those who are in the dawn of life, the children,
those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly,
and those who are in the shadows of life--
the sick, the needy and the handicapped.

Senator Hubert H. Humphrey

What's this Web Site All About?

Accountability.

That is the one word that most accurately describes this web site.

We are a grass-roots effort by parents of children who are clients of the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. (ELARC). At the time we write these words, the ELARC is experiencing a time of crisis.

We feel that the ELARC is not adequately serving the needs of many of our children and their families.

We feel that the ELARC is not meeting its responsibilities and obligations under the law.

We feel that the ELARC is, in fact, acting outside of the law in many of its actions.

We feel that the ELARC has, in many cases, become an adversary of our families rather than an advocate for our children.

We feel that the current ELARC management, have, over the past twenty-five years, become ingrown, self-absorbed, and beyond reproof, if not accountability.

The purpose of this web site is to bring the ELARC, and its management, into accountability.

We need your prayers. May God Help our children. May God Bless our efforts.
